Maybe companies should add an option to donate and, when detecting piracy, state the user could donate if they find themselves appreciating the game. Effectively a "If you appreciate the end result and want to thank us, go here".

While the alternative methods to anti-piracy are funny they seem kind of pointless. Sneaking it in later in an update might work a bit better but it's just going to be another quick crack.
