Skull and Bones is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Singapore and published by Ubisoft. The game is set to be released in February 2024 for Amazon Luna, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A version for Google Stadia was planned before the service’s shutdown. The game revolves around piracy and naval warfare with a fantastical setting during the late 17th century, the peak of the historical Golden Age of Piracy. As of 2017, Skull and Bones was marketed as a tactical action game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. Players take control of a customizable pirate ship, and may choose to sail the Indian Ocean by themselves and set off on a single-player campaign, or gather up to five other players to ally in player versus player gameplay in Disputed Waters.

Wind positioning can be assessed to gain an advantage in battle. Players may collect additional ships throughout the game, such as sloops-of-war, frigates and brigantines, whose weapons include mortars, broadside cannons, and rockets. Ships can be charged into with brute force and boarded. The rate of inflicted damage is gauged by the health bar. A core component is the multiplayer mode Loot Hunt, where two groups of players are challenged in treasure hunting to further accumulate their riches. Each given ship’s crow’s nest is scalable for use as a lookout point, and spyglasses will be available. Microtransactions will be included.

  1. How good can a contractually obligated game release be?

  2. There's a good idea….monster hunter but with ships……that sounds insanely good..

  3. I played the closed beta with a friend and I wasn't impressed

  4. Hey everyone just friendly reminder, just go back and play Black Flag and forget this was made and save your money your welcome,,,and if you do enjoy this game just get another hobby

  5. Skulls and Bones is not a pirate game, it's an MMO disguised as a ship game, because money.
The things that made Black Flag good are not there,
your ship feel small because of the distant camera and the fact that you are the ship, not the captain of the ship,
all the UI elements also makes it very jarring, the crew also look very low quality and feels like toy soldiers glued at their positions.

they removed all the romance and the epic of fighting naval battles in the age of sail, to replace it with minigames, HP bars, stamina gauges and battlepasses

  6. looks underwhelming from gfx and boring from gamestyle

  7. When gamers get an actual set of standards for what equals an actual "complete game" well maybe we can actually start playing them again.

But you guys gotta stop throwing your money at everything and pre ordering without actually playing the game/demo or watch a review.

    Just grow up for once

  8. That monster hunting ship game you were talking about already exists by the way.

  9. Looks way too arcady to get a proper sailing a ship feeling

  10. I played the free trial and it kept shoving the unlock the full game in my face every 30 minutes
That redirects you to the premium bundle which was $100

As soon as I saw that I checked out the β€œstore” saw all the cosmetics and just knew what this game truly is

  11. 12:00 "its not pay to win" but if you dont wanna spent a humungus amount of time grinding it, you can pay for it xD

  12. They have a sprint mechanic in a sailing game? What the fuck is this joke of a game lol

  13. I'm sorry but it sounds like a game that doesn't know what it wants to be apart from a long grind to make money and dangle 'the awesome upgrade' in front of your face…and I'm not just saying from this video but all the videos IV watched. An other dumb triple A title that's using copy and paste game structure that most of the time doesn't make sense and make the game interesting in anyway.

  14. Not everything needs a battle pass πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ battle pass in a pirate game sounds awful nobody wants that I hope

  15. for full price title, the game is trash. Straight up. Compared to the possibilities of Black flag it's just a laughable attempt to suck more money out of that concept. It's actually sad, that all the potential was wasted here and the devs still trying to charge a full price for their "AAAA" title. Only sad. As you said as a free to play live service game, i could say yes it is a decent game. But this is scam. Just scam.

  16. soo much potential, but in the end it looks like a mobile game

  17. I’ve played this trash and the end game is about 18-24 hours into the game

  18. 8 hour free trial, no reason not to at least try it.

  19. Do not know how it was in beta but right now, 3 weeks later there are items to boost your max speed. Water in 10% and 15% variant. Also you can get to players that are like up 1500m far away but targettin their seals, especially with ballistas.

  20. I would much rather stick with Sea of Thieves.

  21. 70 dollars up front…20-30 dollar battlepass if not more…20-30 dollar cosmetics… its just to much and this game has no substance. Looks boring AF…I remember LOVING Pirates Gold on Sega Genesis…I played it through Sega TV which was way before its time and was amazing! Pirates gold from 1993 had more substance to it than this game. Its sad. Theres alot more to being a pirate than just shooting stuff from your ship all day. This is just an FPS through ships eyes, nothing more. Should have discovery, boardings, landings, sieges, hidden treasures, politics for a game that cost 100s of millions of dollars to produce. Instead we get almost nothing. These game companies are to big, to many mouths to feed so the budgets for these games gets WAY out of hand for what it is. Not only is the budget out of control they are expected to profit like crazy so we get these insane prices and passes and cosmetics. Gaming industry is a failure, atleast big studios are. All the best games releasing lately are all smaller studios. I havnt had a AAA game catch my attention in I cant remember how long, forever it seems.

  22. Can't believe people are actually paying 70 dollars for Quadrupple A(ss)…..good going boys, make your master rich.

  23. If it was a free game i would play it! but not for 70€ sure not.

  24. What I really like about Skull and Bones, and this is a MASSIVE PRO – is that it made me install AC Black Flag and play it again.

  25. Not my cup of tea but I'll take my chances with the remaster of Black Flag I can't wait for the old school combat mechanics

  26. 5:40 answer to your question "in which game there is a sailsship fighting giant sea monsters" : ATLAS (game done by devs of ARK Survival)…a dead project by now…still in EA with like 0 online
that fact you do not know about such games tells a lot about your low level of knowledge in such topics and your opinion about anything in gaming is literally a childish noise

  27. 12:00 Still P2W in my books. Whenever they use that line — "you can still earn it through the normal course of progression" — I eyeroll hard. Oftentimes that means hours of tedious grinding. But even if it didn't, as far as I'm concerned, if paying money speeds up your progression, I consider that P2W. It's not the most egregious form of P2W, but still P2W. Especially in a PvP environment, or even a cooperative environment.

  28. I'll just play Black flag again. Better than whatever this is.

  29. I don't care who trashes it. It may be the shittiest modern disappointment ever. But it's not why? Because a Quadrpuple A game. Why is it a Quadruple A game? Because they say so. They keep letting you play the game, because you haven't accepted it yet. No matter how boring and lame it may feel playing the game. You just won't let go of the idea that this complete dumpster fire is actually a masterpiece. Get with the program, man!

  30. This is the future of gaming, its sad and depressing.. the good days are gone.

  31. It’s such an amazing game that I feel is only limited by ones imagination.

  32. Damn. Just go play sea of thieves.

  33. Don't want it don't care it came out way too late for me

  34. I'd rather be blacklisted instead of getting BLACKED by these companies lmao

  35. God this game looks like ass. After an hour I’d be bored

  36. Healthbars on pirate ships. Thats all you needed to know about the game.

  37. Is there a wind mechanic to sailing that can influence the speed of ships?😊

  38. They spend all that time trying to adapt an engine to what inevitable becomes a mediocre game rather than making a great one from scratch. And then they go over budget anyway. It looks like this thing was copied from AC when it should have looked more like silent hunter.

  39. So Ubisoft had to convince you to play a AAAA game? Huh, neat!

  40. Assassins creed black flag but worse in every way

  41. Pop Up Pirate is more fun than this….No electricity needed. πŸ˜‚

  42. Imagine if on the chase missions you could toss meat overboard to summon a sea monster.

  43. Looks Ugly AF… But it must have good gameplay right? right….???

  44. It’s crazy how bad this game is and how bad the decision making on things we get to do in the game was. Ubi has made some trash before but this is on a whole different level πŸ˜‚

  45. Yawn..BORING PHONE GAME..πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜’πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

  46. I wish they would add hand to hand combat kind of like Sea of thieves and you were able to get legendary drops and gear up also from what I noticed the islands that you dock on are very small instances. It be great if they were bigger and again, you could explore and fight things on the islands and please take out those ghost fences. They’re so annoying
