  1. Awesome vid as always, I do miss the pirates streams and battle tunes ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. this is my favorite game since sid meiers pirates!

  3. Yessssss i loved the old video of this game!!!! Moooorrreee!

  4. Caribbean Legends is a re-release of an older game, called Sea Dogs: To Each Their Own, with a lot of big updates. It came out after Sea Dogs II, the Pirates of the Caribbean one. The game originally released in 2012.

  5. During blackjack, you switch off dealers and whoever dealt during a draw wins the pot. So its not totally unfair. But there is a luck skill that you can increase by gambling to get better odds seemingly

  6. Is it me or has Kevinโ€™s videos lately have a high pitched ringing noise?

  7. Don't apologised for us seeing many of your videos Kevo, they make people's days ^^

  8. *Pirates of the Caribbean music intensifies*

  9. This is the Skull and Bones we deserved

  10. I love those old pirate games! They were basically all the same but had so much charm… and still more content than certain titles of the many different AAAA titles out there…

  11. There is literally another video that says this game is the "Worst game on Steam"… YMMV

  12. I am once again asking how you got The Movies running on your PC (I will not stop until I have this knowledge)

  13. This has Bethesda's Pirates of the Carribbean -vibes

  14. A little background for this game.
Once upon a time, a Russian company made a game called Corsairs. Anything land-related was utter rubbish, anything sea-related was absolutely amazing, for the time. No other game existed like this. Quests were impossible to complete because everything was written in Russian, then horribly translated to English. And even the Russian part was totally broken and shitty. But nobody cared as long as they got a good frigate or corvette. Btw, the English version of the game was called Sea Dogs, for some reason.
Then they made Corsairs/Sea Dogs II. Pretty much the same thing, perhaps slightly better graphics.
And then they were working on the third version of the game. And then the whole Pirates of Caribbean thing exploded all over us like a pent-up virgin. So some genius in Hollywood sniffed out this game and approached it's devs, suggesting they revamp the entire setting for the game and rename it Pirates of the Caribbean. Huge bucks would soon follow. And the dickhea… the Russians accepted.
And then the deadlines started to frustrate and annoy them. So after working on it for ages, and being unable to fix all the bugs and glitches, they just gave up, said "nahuy, zayebala," and released the game with the version number of v0.98. Nowadays, we would probably call it "early access" or whatever cope mechanism we like to use in order to fool ourselves into paying for unfinished goods. As in, like buying yeast under the name of "Bread, Early Access." But back then? Outrageous.
The game sucked ass, passionately. The sailing part was still good, just the details in rigging and equipment were astounding. Standing on deck and letting a full broadside rip into your opponent felt amazing, especially after you downloaded a sound mod that replaced all the shitty gunshot sounds. But the rest of it was utter shit. I mean, it was all written in pretty bad Russian, then run through, I guess, an early version of google translate. The quests weren't just unsolvable, you literally didn't even know what they said, it was all gibberish. Half of them were simply broken anyway, because of all the bugs. The entire game felt like exactly what it was – a half finished product with a bad PotC glazing.
Until some brilliant people created a total overhaul mod. They removed most of the PotC bullshit, like having to fight skeletons constantly, its rather idiotic lore etc. They introduced ship modding. They fixed quests, painstakingly re-writing and bug-fixing them. They made the game GOOD.
And their website is still standing, just checked. Piratesahoy . net. Without their mod, this game is utter garbage. With it? Best sailing simulator, possibly ever. Just un-tick that "arcade" box, otherwise sailing will feel as bad and childish as it was in Black Flag. I mean, BF was fun, but I could sink or loot dozens of ships within minutes. Ridiculous. The real key is mastering the wind, the gut-wrenching feeling as your ship slooooowly turns before you can let off another broadside.

  15. Lmaoo the fakeout is too funny ๐Ÿ˜‚

  16. You totally, TOTALLY, need to play Ravens Cry… thats peak pirate gaming… you get it, peak, like the parrots of the pirates

  17. Wow. This looks completely trash ๐Ÿ˜‚

  18. It's a shame that we didn't find out who Mary is and why she is jealous.

  19. I love the idea of a hugely successful pirate that's feared all over the seas with Kevin's voice walking into a place and going "oh! this is a cute little town!"

  20. This game doen't look bad at all. Other games i'd recommend if you like pirate/sailing games are: "Sailing Era" and "Uncharted waters 2" (though that last one is pretty old). In both you can sail the whole world and be a pirate, a trader, or an explorer. They also have story mode with different characters you can play.

  21. Day 561 of asking Kevin to play Batman: The Telltale Series episode 2

  22. looks like a weird new version of sid meiers pirates

  23. More humans in spore pls. Trust me CIV stage is good.

  24. I would play skull and bones if they had not ship combat. How tf am i supposed to be a pirate when i can't even swing my sword or shoot my pistol?

  25. Never change, Sea Dogs. Well— only change a little bit.

  26. So there was a game called Sea Dogs. The sequel to that game was Pirates of the Caribbean. The trequel was Sea Dogs 3. And this game youโ€™re playing now is a mod to the trequel. Thatโ€™s why it looks so similar.
I used to love the series when I was a kid

  27. You know the beautiful piping music of the "recorder" wind instrument in the background? Like at the beginning?

How do I get a copy of that? It's one of my favorite music backdrops of the show. If I did it, it wouldn't sound the same.

  28. This is kinda like generic brand sid meier's pirates haha

  29. sending extra love your way ๐Ÿ™‚ <3

  30. Atlas is the best pirate game around

  31. There are tons of great older games that are basically goldmines waiting to be discovered.

  32. Man, this game is pretty great. It's missing more ship boarding to music like Barbie Girl and Chocolate Rain, though.

  33. I really like eating something like noodles in the afternoon while I watch Kevin. Normally I watch him play Harry Potter on Thursday. Feels good to relax while watching Keving and having nothing to do ๐Ÿ˜Š

  34. Cannibals in the jungle is a racist trope โ˜น๏ธ.

  35. 23:09 I can't be the only one who thought that door looks like a bar of chocolate.

  36. that literally "the pirate of the caribbean" the video game from 2003 just done badly
almost all assests are from the game as well as the graphics
sadly they didnt do much more 20 years later from clunky movement to more ships or better world building or just a graphics update

  37. The bar to beat skull and bones is really low.

  38. 23:23 I'm sorry, is that Comic Sans??? They were making aged wood textures for Pirate Themed Mount & Blade and they settled with Comic Sans.

  39. Who here misses Pirates of the Caribbean Online? This gives similar vibes

  40. It's unironically better than skull and bones since you can actually board ships !
